My Bible Study class is studying Daniel this fall. It's a Beth Moore series so I am excited about gaining new insights that impact my walk with God. The familiar story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego has a new significance, now. King Nebuchadnezzar witnessed FOUR people inside the blazing fire. Jesus was there with them and delivered them unharmed. They didn't even smell of smoke! Only their bonds were burned--He set them FREE! I guess I never thought how they appeared after coming through the furnace but this revelation was so significant that I got goosebumps. You see, the Lord can deliver us from a trial but we often are still in bondage to it. Until we realize that our hands are not tied anymore, we remain trapped inside that furnace.
I have had many trials in my life. Some still have a hold on me, I see this, now. It's is really silly on my part. The hard part is over--I've gotten through the fire with the Lord's help, yet, I am still my captor's prisoner. My bonds have been devoured by the Lord's flames--I don't even smell like smoke! I am freed by the grace of the Lord God Almighty.
So, I am hereby declaring my Declaration of Freedom. Thank you, Jesus for delivering me from Satan's grasp. My faith has been tempered and refined. I am stronger, now. The Devil has no hold on me. Praise the Lord!
